Twitter Notifications Not Working Problem Solved

Are Twitter notifications not working for you? If so, You’re not the only one! Having your Twitter notifications not working is frustrating. The problem can be due to a variety of reasons, but we’ll get into that in a moment.

To begin with, if you are using TweetDeck, there are some known issues where Twitter notifications work on the PC version but not on the MAC version or vice versa. Other than this issue, TweetDeck itself has no notification problems that I’m aware of.

Here’s how to fix Twitter Notifications Not Working

Tweetdeck

1) Open up Preferences

2) Click the “Connections” tab

3) Check the box next to “Show all connections”

4) Scroll down and find Twitter

5) Check the box next to “Enable Twitter (user stream)” 6) Scroll down and check “Include @replies”

7) Click Save

Google Chrome

For those of you using Google Chrome as your web browser, there seems to be a bug where Twitter notifications do not work. In order to fix this problem, open up your extensions page by typing chrome://extensions/ in the address bar. If you haven’t already installed it, download the Google Notifier for Google Chrome.

It’s an extension made by Google that is free. When I tested my notifications on another computer with Google Chrome as my default browser, they worked perfectly fine! So unless you are always logged out of your account or using internet Explorer), go grab that Google Notifier extension!

Reason of Notification Problem

Getting twitter notifications on time is really important for some people. However, there is a problem with Twitter notifications. Some time ago I haven’t received a number of my notifications on time and some people have already encountered the same problem.

It happens only on Samsung phones with android Kitkat 4.4.2 or higher installed and does not happen with a lollipop!

There are many different reports from users all over the world about this issue which leads us to the conclusion that it is not something local like version specific or device-specific or anything else.

There is no official fix for this issue yet although Samsung has been notified there are some temporary solutions.

They work only if you have notifications from your home screen and not from the app itself! So how can we solve the problem? One of them-  Only try it when you see that you are receiving many more notifications than usual or once every hour at least, otherwise, it might cause even more problems like blocking all Twitter notifications on your phone. Another one- Delete all Twitter accounts (photos, sent images, etc), restart the device (not necessary) then add them back again; that should solve your problems temporarily until they come back if they will ever come back that is … The last one- Do like in problem but rather a global problem that can be fixed!

As mentioned earlier, the notification bug has been reported in Android devices running under Android version 4.4 (KitKat) and above without any root access  but we believe deep down that with enabled root
