How to Disable Network Access to Your Registry in Windows 10

Editing the registry in Windows 10

To edit the registry in Windows 10, you need to open the Regedit tool.

1. Click on Start and type the word “Regedit” into the search bar.

2. When you find your Regedit tool, click on it and then click on File > Load Hive..

3. In the box that appears, browse for where the location of your computer’s registry is stored. You can find this under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE (for a 64-bit operating system) or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node (for a 32-bit operating system). Once you’ve loaded your hive, click on File > Make corrections > New folder…

4. Select the path for your new folder, which will happen automatically once you start typing its name. This will create a new folder called “New Folder 1.” Copy all the files inside of this folder over to your desktop or another location where you’ll be able to find them again later on.

5. Now in Regedit, go back to New Folder 1 and delete everything from inside it except for one .reg file. This .reg file should be named something like “
