Why Is My YouTube Video 360p? And What This Means For You!

So you just uploaded a video to your YouTube channel and it’s only 360p. What does this mean?
The good news is that YouTube uses the video’s resolution as a ranking metric. So if you want your videos to rank higher in search, make sure they’re at least 360p! But why would YouTube use the resolution as a ranking metric? Because it affects how fast your video loads. Videos with lower resolutions take much longer for your browser to load and generate the video on the screen. This could lead to viewers abandoning the video before it actually starts playing!
If you want people to click play, make sure that your videos are at least 360p in resolution!

YouTube Video 360p Reason

On the whole, YouTube videos are much smaller than full-length videos. In fact, the average video on YouTube is around 4 MB in size. However, that’s only if you’re uploading a video directly to your channel. If you upload a video to a website like Vimeo or Dailymotion, it’s entirely possible for it to be over 1 GB in size! If you want people to watch your video on YouTube, make sure it has at least 360p resolution!

How to Increase Video Quality in Youtube

To increase your video quality, you can use a number of features in the YouTube app.

Try these tips:

1. Double-click on the video in the search results to open its details panel.

This will bring up the Video Quality section. There are three tabs at the top of this screen for THREE reasons:

a) To see what your video resolution is!

b) To view how much data your camera took and c) To view a list of resolutions for everyone else’s videos.

2. Click on “Settings” from that tab and scroll down to “Advanced settings.”

Here you will find options for “Video Quality.” You want to choose “720p” from here. If you don’t know what that means, Google it! All they do is tell you what your resolution is, so if you want it higher, make sure you have a higher resolution or have a lower one set as default in the YouTube app!

YouTube uses the video’s resolution as a ranking metric. Make sure that your videos are at least 360p and still have a good quality setting to ensure they load quickly and don’t get abandoned.
